Winter finally has settled in here along the Nature Coast of Crystal River and Homosassa. With temperatures hovering around a bone chilling 69 degrees life is tough here in the sunshine state. Please don’t let me sarcasm fool you, our winter months…

Finally, the dog days of summer are behind us. Passing cold fronts and cooling winds have finally prevailed and our fish are finally starting to take hold of their fall and winter feeding grounds. Shallow flats, deep holes and scattered oysterbars a…

Well fall is supposedly here but don’t tell Mother Nature that. This time of year is always interesting both weather wise and fish wise. So much of our fishing this time of year is based on the circumstances of our weather. During our first few cold…

Beautiful weather and sunny days have led to perfect fishing conditions here along the Nature Coast of Florida. This perfect weather scenario couldn’t have come at a better time either. Here along the Nature Coast our major Redfish run and Spanish M…

August has been a truly unique month for fishing along the Nature Coast of Florida. Calm winds, little rain and an abundance of bait and opportunities have helped to keep the fishing as hot as the temperatures. During this time of year my clients an…

To put it Simple, it is Hot out there right now. But the great part about the hot weather is that as the temps become hotter so does the inshore fishing. Air temps are hovering in the 90’s right now and the afternoon rain storms have been a welcome…

Beautiful weather, tons of bait, and slick calm fishing days help me to realize why I love Florida fishing this time of year. There are very few places in the world where you can come into contact with all three of these scenarios and on top of that…

Finally!! The warm weather is here to stay. Air temps are hanging in the 80’s and water temps are finally cemented in the low to mid 70’s. This combination of warm air and water is a recipe for disaster along the Nature Coast of Florida. The warming…

Grouper and Tarpon Biting

To put it Simple, it is Hot out there right now. But the great part about the hot weather is that as the temps become hotter so does the inshore fishing. Air temps are hovering in the 90’s right now and the afternoon rain storms have been a welcome sign of relief for most anglers along the Nature Coast. The afternoon rain helps cool down the water a degree or two which with water temps reaching the upper 80’s in the later part of the afternoon any little dip in the water temps can lead to a smor… Continue

Red Hot Fishing Charters Fishing Report

Spring has finally arrived and all signs are pointing to another fantastic fall fishing extravaganza. Acres of bait are covering the flats and most of the mangroves and lush turtle grass beds have already filtered the water enough to turn the local area waters back into their gin clear states which our area is “World Famous” for. With clearer water and acres of bait the fishing opportunities have been endless along the Nature Coast. Our top three players at this point are definitely the Redfish,… Continue

Some of the biggest schools and largest fish I have seen in recent years were caught during the last few weeks off of the crystal clear flats of the Crystal River. Huge schools of Reds ranging from 10-50 fish have been cruisin… Continue
