Capt. Butch Rickey
florida fishing reports

I managed two trips this week. Missed one with my good friend Bruce Miller when he spent the night sick before we were to fish on Thursday.

Friday morning I met Larry Lessard, who is a neighbor, and has been doing my yard and lawn trimming for some time, now. He's a very nice guy, but I've never had the opportunity to spend any time with him, and I was looking forward to this trip.

We left the d… Continue

Capt. Alan Sherman "Get Em" Sportfishing Charters

October is nearly over and the great fishing that I have been talking about for the past three weeks hasn’t really materialized as I had described it. This is due to the unusually hot conditions that we are experiencing this Fall. Because of the very hot conditions it looks good that we will see a Fall fishing pattern that could reach way into December. Finally this past week signs of the Fall Migration getting under way in South Florida have been apparent. My last five charters took place in No… Continue

Captain Keith Mixon Mixin' Work With Play Fishing Charters

Fishing along Florida's Space Coast has been good reports Captain Keith Mixon of Lakeland (www.mixinworkwithplay.com). In the past week, several trout weighing up to four pounds have been caught at first light near S.R. 405 in the Indian River. Top water lures fished with a slow retrieve have worked exceptionally well along the grass flats in three to four feet of water. A seven foot medium action spinning reel combo rigged with ten pound test Power… Continue

SeaSquared Charters

Exclusive Report

On a boating tour through the Keys, Scott and Sharon Gibson pulled into Burdine's and decided to spend a few days in Marathon before heading to Fantasy Fest in Key West. The Indianapolis couple included a day of fishing with Capt. Chris Johnson and SeaSquared Charters out of the 7 Mile Marina.

They went to the gulf in search of keeper grouper, but came up short. They caught plenty of gags, but none large enough to be eligible for the fish box. They also tagged and released two… Continue
